How to reach us and Maps
The city of Orvieto has solved its traffic congestion problems by restricting entrance by car only to residents.
All other private vehicles must be left in the designated parking lots outside the city walls. The Al San Giovenale di Orvieto restaurant is in the San Giovenale district of town, in the heart of the old Medieval quarter, a short walk from the famous Duomo of Orvieto.
From Station Square: leave your car in the free parking outside the station and go up either by bus or using the funicular. Both buses and the funicular arrive at Piazza Cahen, from where minibuses reach Piazza della Repubblica in five minutes. From here, after a short walk down Via Filippeschi and Via Malabranca, you will reach Piazza San Giovenale.
From Foro Boario: leave your car in the pay-parking and take the escalators or the lift up into the old town centre of Orvieto. Both arrive in Piazza di San Ludovico. From here, follow the walls and you will be in Piazza San Giovenale in five minutes.
Buses, with a restaurant voucher can get as far as Piazza Cahen to unload their passangers before proceeding to one of the designated parking lots outside the city walls.
Cars are permitted to park in the parking areas within the city that are not closed to traffic.
